It's true, we love fishing. I just wish I liked to eat it! I do eat it, but I'm not totally in love with it. Over this last weekend we went fishing with our friends Dustin and Rebekah and Dustin's dad Mike. They have a boat. We had so much fun! Gene caught about 15 fish! Isn't that crazy? I caught one that was about 3 1/2 pounds! That one was the biggest catch of the day. I was pretty excited. We really had a great time. We just fished, cruised the lake, listened to music and just enjoyed each others company. Thanks to Tiffani (Gene's sister) for taking Ethan again. We left our house at 5:30 in the morning, so Ethan slept at her house. We can't wait to go again. We are hoping that sometime we can go with Tiff and Mark. I'd love to see her face if she caught one!

Lagoon
Yesterday we had so much fun. Gene and I went to Lagoon! Gene's sister got discount tickets through her work and invited us along. We haven't gone in 2 years. Boy they've got some fun rides. We rode their new roller coaster called Wicked. I was so scared! The ride takes you up 90 degrees right at the beginning. Freaky. I don't think I've ever ridden so many coasters in one day, but Gene wanted to get all the rides. I did whimp out on the Rocket. It pretty much shoots you straight up in the air and then lets you free fall on the way down. No thanks. Gene, his sister Camille and our nephews went on it a few times. Cherie and I gladly sat and watched. The only bad thing was the weather. It was only about 60 degrees outside. Cold and wet. We had wet bums most of the morning. Then of course as we are leaving the sun decides to come out. Oh well. All in all we had a great time. Thanks to Tiffani (Gene's sister) for watching Ethan for us.
Side note on Ethan--He pulled himself up onto his feet last night. It was the first time he got up to his feet. He's been trying so hard to do that. Then of course he let go of the couch. We caught him in time though. He'll be walking in no time!

Pull Ups
The title is called pull ups not because Ethan is being potty trained...yet, but because he is now pulling himself up to things. For example, the dishwasher and the couch are now jungle gyms. He's been crawling for a few weeks now and is already advancing to this stage. Man oh man, it all happens so fast. And boy, what a talker! There is constantly a noise coming out of his mouth. Whether it is a happy sound or a grumpy sound makes the difference. There are plenty of both noises. He's going to be 9 months old soon. To think that I'm going to have a one year old in a few months is crazy. Ethan is sleeping much better these days. Thank goodness! He only gets up maybe once or twice in the night and is taking naps about every 3 to 3 1/2 hours everyday. What a big boy.

Gone Fishin'
This last weekend was awesome. On a whim Gene decided we should go fishing. So after Ethan woke up on Saturday morning we were off to Jordanelle Reservoir. I'd gone fishing with Gene many times before, but I didn't have a fishing license so I couldn't actually catch fish. I got my license in January so this time I actually got to cast out. Gene taught me how to tie my own line too. I even baited my own hook! Pretty skilled chick! Gene caught the biggest fish of the day. It was about 17 inches long and about 3 pounds. The rest of the fish caught that day were small. I caught 2 and Gene caught three or four. Since Ethan was on this trip, we had to take some extra precautions. Like sunscreen for example. I'm super paranoid about having a burned baby. I kept reapplying it to his delicate skin. Of course, I forgot to bring a hat for him. So, he got a little burned on his scalp. Thankfully it doesn't seem to bother him.
I think we will probably go fishing more often now. Since I get to cast out too I don't get as bored so fast. We want to go up at least twice a month. I guess I better find more recipes on how to cook fish!

Another Book Review
So in my quest for another book to read, I came across the book Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac. This book is about a girl who takes a stumble down her school's front steps and hits her head hard enough that it gives her memory loss. She lost the last 4 years of her life. She doesn't know her best friend, boyfriend, and forgot that her parents were divorced. This story is pretty much a story of trying to find out who Naomi (the main character) really is. She's learning that she doesn't really like the person she seemed to be, so she was changing her whole personality.
If I had to give this book stars, I would probably have to give it a 2 1/2 out of five. Honestly, it wasn't that great. I mean, it wasn't bad or a waste of time to read, but it was just ok. Compared to the other books I've been reading it wasn't that long at all. Under 300 pages. The story was over just as soon as I started it.
I'm not sure what I'll be reading next, but I'm excited to get started. I don't really have a lot of free time, but I figure I'd rather be reading than watching tv when I get some time.

Stephanie's Book Review
As most of you have read by now, I have spent a lot of my time reading this last week. I just finished reading The Host this morning. It was so good! Stephenie Meyer is an excellent author. At first the story was kind of confusing and it took a while to get going. The about halfway through the book I just couldn't put it down! Once I finished it I realized that the slow start was very important. It helped get you familiar with the characters and their surroundings. I guess you could say that it is a science fiction book for people who don't like science fiction! If that makes any sense...
Here's a quick rundown of the book. The world has been taken over by aliens. The aliens (called souls in the book) need a host body to take over. The soul named Wanderer took over the body a woman named Melanie. Normally when a body is taken over the person just goes away. But, Melanie refused to leave. So, Wanderer and Melanie now shared the same body. Through Melanie's memories Wanderer (also called Wanda) finds a compound where humans have been living. The humans who resisted the alien take over. The humans lived in a series of underground tunnels. Melanie's brother Jamie and her boyfriend Jared lived there. So, naturally Wanda falls in love with Jared too. But a guy names Ian falls in love with Wanda and Wanda loves him too! So, its kind of a love triangle...or square...or something like that. I hope this is making sense.
Beyond that, you'll have to read the book to hear more of the story. It truly is a great read. I'm glad I gave it a try. I think I'd read anything Stephenie Meyer writes!
