Christmas

I know it's already half way through January, but I knew I still needed to update the blog with our Christmas holiday fun. Tiffany, Mark and Russell drove up from Colorado to spend the holiday with us. Mom didn't know Russell was coming, so it was a big surprise for her. We started Christmas Day off really early. Gene, Ethan and I got up and got ready for the day before the sun even came up. Once everybody dragged out of bed, Ethan got to open his presents. He got some toys and coloring pages, but the coolest gift we gave him was his new bedroom set. He got a brand new big boy bed, a toy box, and a shelf with 6 little tote boxes on it to hold his things. Of course we were more excited about everything than he was. While everyone else was showering and stuff, we went over to Gene's sister's house. His whole family was there. Ethan opened up more presents. Camille (Gene's other sister) gave him tons of clothes. Much needed clothes. Grandma and Grandpa Stewart gave him a neat chair that looks like a panda bear. It's almost like his own personal lay-z-boy. He sits in it whenever he watches movies.
Then it was back home to pick everyone up. We all went over to mom and grandma's house. We finally ate some breakfast. After we all ate, we opened up all of our gifts. Grandma had a good time because she said it had been so many years since she had a family Christmas like that. We all spent the day over there. Mom just couldn't get over the surprise of Russell being there. She was so excited. After the day was over, the family stayed in town for a few more days. The days were filled with food, games, and good conversation. In fact, we also had a pants ripping ceremony for Russell's old pants. We all gathered in the living room and paid respect to his old pants. Russell then proceeded to tear his jeans into pieces. Good thing he got a few more pairs for Christmas!
