So in my quest for another book to read, I came across the book Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac. This book is about a girl who takes a stumble down her school's front steps and hits her head hard enough that it gives her memory loss. She lost the last 4 years of her life. She doesn't know her best friend, boyfriend, and forgot that her parents were divorced. This story is pretty much a story of trying to find out who Naomi (the main character) really is. She's learning that she doesn't really like the person she seemed to be, so she was changing her whole personality.
If I had to give this book stars, I would probably have to give it a 2 1/2 out of five. Honestly, it wasn't that great. I mean, it wasn't bad or a waste of time to read, but it was just ok. Compared to the other books I've been reading it wasn't that long at all. Under 300 pages. The story was over just as soon as I started it.
I'm not sure what I'll be reading next, but I'm excited to get started. I don't really have a lot of free time, but I figure I'd rather be reading than watching tv when I get some time.

Stephanie's Book Review
As most of you have read by now, I have spent a lot of my time reading this last week. I just finished reading The Host this morning. It was so good! Stephenie Meyer is an excellent author. At first the story was kind of confusing and it took a while to get going. The about halfway through the book I just couldn't put it down! Once I finished it I realized that the slow start was very important. It helped get you familiar with the characters and their surroundings. I guess you could say that it is a science fiction book for people who don't like science fiction! If that makes any sense...
Here's a quick rundown of the book. The world has been taken over by aliens. The aliens (called souls in the book) need a host body to take over. The soul named Wanderer took over the body a woman named Melanie. Normally when a body is taken over the person just goes away. But, Melanie refused to leave. So, Wanderer and Melanie now shared the same body. Through Melanie's memories Wanderer (also called Wanda) finds a compound where humans have been living. The humans who resisted the alien take over. The humans lived in a series of underground tunnels. Melanie's brother Jamie and her boyfriend Jared lived there. So, naturally Wanda falls in love with Jared too. But a guy names Ian falls in love with Wanda and Wanda loves him too! So, its kind of a love triangle...or square...or something like that. I hope this is making sense.
Beyond that, you'll have to read the book to hear more of the story. It truly is a great read. I'm glad I gave it a try. I think I'd read anything Stephenie Meyer writes!

Spiderbaby
Here is my cute little Spiderbaby! We bought him some new jammies and I just had to share them with everyone. Isn't he so cute? These PJ's are actually size 12 months. He's just a big kid. I call him my little chubbywumba...I think that's one word! His clothes are anywhere from size 9 months - 12 months. It's almost impossible to buy for him.
We have learned that he loves the Baby Einstein movies. Thanks to Rose for giving us our first videos! It's nice because when I need a little break, I just pop one in. He sits there still for at least 15 minutes. It's wonderful! Then when he's done watching, we pull out a book, toys, whatever. He's getting to a stage where he needs constant attention. It's the 'mommy please hold me or I'm going to die' stage. It is kind of sweet, but it gets a little annoying. (At least I'm honest) He's all over the place now. I put plugs in the outlets just the other day. Today he went from the living room floor all the way to the bathroom hallway. He went fast too! Why do they get so big so fast?

The Host
I'm reading a new book! Since the next book of the Twilight Series doesn't come until August...which I've already pre-ordered...I am reading a book called The Host. It is written by the same author. I really like the way Stephenie Meyer writes. This book is more of a science fiction. I'm not really into science fiction, but I thought I'd give it a try. I'm about 1/4 of the way through the book already. It's like 650 pages. So far it's a little confusing, but it's getting better the farther I read. I'll let you know how I like it.
I am more or less trying to fill my time with books until the book I really want is out. Like I said, I pre-ordered it. It should arrive on my doorstep on August 4th. I can't tell you how excited I am!

Close Up
I bet nobody wanted to see us this close up! This was taken on Gene's birthday. Usually when we take pictures like this we both look totally stupid. One of us will look good and the other will have a huge cheek or forehead. Then we'll try again and it will be just the opposite. I thought this one turned out ok. This will only be the second picture in our history that we've taken like this that actually looks normal!
Of course, now that I look at it more closely, I still think it looks kinda weird. Oh well.

Mother's Day
I realize it's been a week since Mother's Day, but I haven't posted anything about it yet. So, here it goes...On Saturday night (the night before Mother's Day) Gene decided to take me to the drive in movies. We put our air mattress in the back of the car and watched Iron Man. Poor Gene was so tired. He fell asleep on me for over half the movie. It's a pretty good movie, I think he'd like it. As a gift Gene gave me a coupon book. He bought it at the gas station. As cheesy as that sounds, I loved it. It had coupons for things like one day of no dishes and a day of being waited on hand and foot. I honestly can't imagine a day with no dishes. And I don't think I could sit still long enough to be waited on. Maybe that's why he gave it to me! Just kidding. It was a sweet present. Then on Sunday (Mother's Day) Gene cooked breakfast for me, mom, and grandma. It was delicious! French toast, hash browns, bacon...all the good stuff! Grandma mentioned to us that she had never held Ethan before. I couldn't believe that. I felt horrible. So we gave her the chance and I made sure to catch it on camera. She said that he was much heavier than he looked. Later in the day we went over to Gene's sister's house. They made a tasty dinner and had strawberry shortcake for dessert. So tasty. We had a good time visiting with everybody.
So, my first Mother's Day was very nice. It's still hard to grasp the idea that I'm a mother now. Mother's Day is for old people! I guess I now fit into that category. But, I'm ok with that. I'm so grateful for Ethan and I am proud to be his mom.
